This brings me to the issue of fund raising. You may have heard that we will lose the income from the Orange Mobile Phone mast in September 2013 as it has become surplus to requirements with the amalgamation of networks and progress with technology. This equates to a loss of £9K+ per annum. Therefore at the last Executive meeting one method of raising funds was proffered and agreed that we will trial and see how it works out.
At the same time as helping out 4th Ewell raise funds you will help 70% of the world’s population by bringing all your unwanted clothes, shoes, bags and belts to the scout HQ. All items must be clean and dry, We cannot accept wet, dirty, soiled items, curtains, duvets or bedding. Once we have gathered a consignment it will be collected and we receive the money.
The plan is for you all to bring your unwanted items now redundant after receipt of new outfits from Father Christmas to Scout HQ on the week commencing 21st January, final day Friday 25th January.
Depending on the success of this trial we will continue possibly on a monthly basis as well as expanding into the local community.
Thank you in advance with your help in making this successful. If you have any questions please contact us.
Finally I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Chairman Exec Committee
